News of: Sunday, August 23 2015,
Today is the last day of SAIL Amsterdam 2015. For the first time, the tall ships will leave Amsterdam in a parade.
Previous editions of SAIL only had a SAIL-in parade, but the ships left on their own after the event. This time, the ships will sail the same way they came, in a long parade to IJmuiden.
They will start sailing at 4.30pm today (Sunday). The parade will be headed by the Mir (Russia) and concluded by the 'Stad Amsterdam'.
Details of the order of the ships can be found here.
Good places to look are from Piet Heinkade, or at the back of the Central Station, or at Westerdoksdijk. They expect it will be busy again, so come early if you want to secure a good place to watch.
