Miffy (Nijntje in Dutch) is a world-famous rabbit, created by the Dutch artist Dick Bruna.
Dick Bruna's work is the topic of an exhibition in the Rijksmuseum, on the occasion of Miffy's 60th birthday.
Miffy is not Bruna's only creation, he made a lot of other work. He was inspired by various other well-known artists (Matisse, Picasso, Calder, Léger, Werkman and Van der Leck). Work by these artists, from the Rijksmuseum own collection, is presented next to Bruna's own work, to let you see the connection.
Of course, his most famous creation, Miffy, will be represented in the exhibition too. You will some two Miffy statues in the garden of the Rijksmuseum.
In the city of Utrecht is a dedicated Miffy Museum, but this is now closed for renovation.
