On Monday October 3 the sun will be partially eclipsed in the Netherlands.
In a narrow region of Portugal and Spain, and north and east Africa, the eclipse will be more complete. A ring of the sun will remain visible.
As the moon moves in front of the sun, it will cast a shadow on a large part of Europe.
In the Netherlands the eclipse starts at 9.54 am. Around 11.05 am the eclipse will be 60% and it will end at 12.22.
It is recommended not to look directly into the sun, as this may damage your eyes.
An animation of how the shadow will move is on this site.
