Amsterdam Hermitage Museum gets EUR 9 Million extra

The Amsterdam Hermitage Museum is to get € 9.000.000 extra funds from the government.

The Amsterdam Hermitage is a branch of the world-famous St. Petersburg Hermitage.

The Amsterdam Hermitage now occupies only a wing of the nursing-home 'Amstelhof', a 17th century building located along the Amstel, very close to the City Hall. The building was created in the 17th century to care for the elderly, but the institution will move to another location as the building no longer meets modern nursing standards.
As soon as that happens, the Amsterdam Hermitage will start occupying the entire building, which means that Amsterdam will have an important new attraction.

A large majority in Parliament is in favour of the extra funding of the Amsterdam Hermitage.
