The oldest person currently alive lives in Holland, and her name is Hendrikje van Andel-Schipper. She celebrates her 115th birthday today.
Mrs van Andel-Schipper lives in Hoogeveen, in the North of the Netherlands. She will be visited by princess Laurentien, the mayor of Hoogeveen and a delegation of Ajax, which is her favourite soccer club. The Dutch association of housewifes will declare her a member of honour.
She can call herself the oldest human being since May 30 of this year.

In 2004 the number of persons in the Netherlands who are over 100 years increased with 91 to almost 1,400.
