In recent years, Amsterdam has become attractive for (fashion) brands in the top end of the market. Prada, Louis Vuitton, Hermès and Gucci are no longer strange names in Amsterdam.

The main street for top fashion is P.C. Hooftstraat, but there are other places too.

Worth mentioning is the Bijenkorf department store at Dam Square (which has several shop-in-shop outlets of top brands), Jan Jansen shoes at Rokin, Hajenius at Rokin, and the Spiegelstraat quarter for antique shops.
Amsterdam also has a few important diamond stores.
