Holland sends army ship with help to New Orleans

The Dutch government has sent a frigate of the navy to the Gulf Coast, with supplies and rescue materials.

The ship is already in the Caribbean, near the Dutch Antilles. The government has offered help to the US government, but has not yet received an official request. Nevertheless, the ship has already been sent, as it will need about 4 days to get there.

The government also offered expertise about water problems and dike breaks, identification teams and pumps for clean drinking water.
