Amsterdam city beach Blijburg probably saved

The city has started an investigation of the possibilities to move the urban beach Blijburg to another location.

Because of building activities on the IJburg islands, the Blijburg beach had to move. Although the beach has gained a lot of popularity, it was uncertain whether or where the beach could be moved. The beach was meant to be temporary from the beginning, but because of the success, 10,000 signatures were collected, and the city decided to investigate possibilities.

The investigation for a new location should be done by the end of October this year.

The beach is still open until September 11.
