Flags half mast in Amsterdam because of plane crash

Because of the crash of flight MH17 yesterday, the Dutch government has asked to fly the Dutch flag half mast on government buildings.

Yesterday, a Malaysian Airlines plane, that departed from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, was shot down over Ukraine. All passengers and crew, 298 persons in total, including 193 Dutch nationals, died.

Because of the crash, the Dutch government has asked all government buildings to fly the Dutch flag half mast. The City of Amsterdam has said it will do so on all Amsterdam city government buildings.
