The Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam's modern art museum) has closed again for a longer period.
The museum was partially open since August last year ('Temporary Stedelijk'). In the Temporary Stedelijk were temporary exhibitions, in the old part of the Stedelijk.
The museum closed down in 2004, for a major renovation and enlargement of the building. This should have been finished already, but the deadlines were not met. Also, the building company that carried out the renovation went bankrupt, causing further delays.
At the moment the Stedelijk Museum is scheduled to open its doors again somewhere in 2012. A precise date is not given.
