Tomorrow is the start of the traditional Canal Festival in Amsterdam.
During 8 days, on 150 locations, visitors can enjoy classical concerts throughout the centre of Amsterdam.
The festival was almost cancelled due to lack of sponsors, but later several sponsors decided to save the festival.
The traditional climax of the canal festival is the Prinsengracht Concert. This is an open air classical concert on floats in the Prinsengracht Canal (near Rozengracht). The concert attracts thousands of spectators.
Since it is free, it is advisable to come early to get a good place along the canal.
See number 14 on this map for the location of the Prinsengracht Concert.
The concert is on Saturday August 21, and it starts at 8pm.
