Amsterdam has announced extra security measures around the soccer match between Ajax and Manchester United, to be played on Thursday February 16.
The city thinks there is an extra risk of violence and riots. It is feared that a group of approximately 1,000 to 2,500 Manchester United fans are coming to Amsterdam without tickets for the match.
There is an extra risk security zone in the center of Amsterdam, and the route from there to the Arena Stadium (in Amsterdam South-East). In the security zone, the police can search passers-by for weapons.
On Wednesday evening about 70 Ajax fans have been arrested by the police.
