The renovation of the Rijksmuseum takes 1.5 years longer than planned.
The re-opening of the Rijksmuseum was scheduled for mid 2008, but the date has now been moved to the end of 2009.
The delay is caused by several factors. An environmental report had to be made and also extra attention is going to be paid to prevention of theft and burglary.
The renovation was started in 2003.
One wing is still open, to show the main, most famous, works of the Rijksmuseum.
