Although 2014 had the first King's Day, as 2013 had the last Queen's Day, it was business as usual in Amsterdam - very orange and very busy.
This year, the dance parties were organized on several locations just outside the city center. The idea was to take the pressure away from the city center, and it appears to have worked quite well. Dance parties at locations like Oosterpark, Kop van het Java-eiland, Sloterdijk and Westerpark were all sold out.
There were some arrests in Amsterdam, but overall the police could handle the crowds very well.
To give an impression on how busy it was on the canals, wath this video.
