The latest figures from the European Union show that Holland has the highest penetration of broadband internet in households.
The number of broadband lines in the EU is now over 40 million (total population is about 350,000) and take-up is growing faster than a year ago.
19% of Dutch households have a broadband internet connection, so it surpasses Denmark, that held the number one position last year. Holland is followed by Denmark (18%), Belgium (16%), Sweden and Finland(15%).
