More cruise ships to Amsterdam in 2006

It is expected that some 110 cruise ships will visit Amsterdam, up 5 from last year.

The cruise ships will bring in 127,000 passengers.

Most ships moor at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam, the terminal that was built a few years ago, close to the Central Station, along the IJ banks.

The number of ships that uses Amsterdam as beginning and end of the trip is rising rapidly. This is good for Amsterdam, as most travellers connect a stay in Amsterdam to their cruise. On average, the passengers on one ship spend E 450,000 in Amsterdam.
