Madelein Albright, the former Secretary of State of the United States, will visit Amsterdam to discuss her latest book.
In her new book – The Mighty and the Almighty (De Macht en de Almacht) – Madeleine Albright tackles the thorny subject of the role of faith in international relations. Albright rejects the notion of a 'clash of civilizations' and calls for America to take a nuanced approach to international confrontations.
The evening will be held by the John Adams Institute, in the Koepelzaal (address: Kattengat 1). The evening starts at 8pm, and the entrance fee is E 20.-.
The Koepelzaal is the dome-shaped building close to the Central Station, now part of the Renaissance Hotel, and a listed monument. It used to be a 17th century Lutheran church, now used for concerts, meetings, etc.
The John Adams Institute is an independent, nonprofit foundation dedicated to furthering cultural exchange between the USA and the Netherlands.
