Ice skating race on Amsterdam Keizersgracht canal on Saturday

On Saturday February 11, the Keizersrace will be held.

The ice skating race is on distance of 150 meter, on the Keizersgracht canal (between Leidsestraat and Nieuwe Spiegelstraat).

The race will be in the evening, the start is at 6pm.

There will be participants in 4 categories: boys until 14 years, girls until 14 years, men over 14 and women over 14.

The last time the race was held was in 1997. Only in rare, cold winters the frost is strong enough to freeze the canals in the center of Amsterdam well enough for ice skating.
