Google Streetview now also in Amsterdam

Google Street View is now also available in Amsterdam.

Street View is a function of Google Maps (www.maps.google.com), which allows you to view left and right, as if you were driving through the streets of Amsterdam.

To this purpose, Google has driven cars with 360 degree cameras through Amsterdam, to photograph as many streets as possible.

Some streets have to be left out in Amsterdam, as they are difficult to reach by car, or restricted to pedestrians. Some parts of the Red Light District are not (yet) visible on StreetView, and the shopping area Kalverstraat/Nieuwendijk near Dam Square is closed off for cars.

An instruction movie is available on http://maps.google.com/help/maps/streetview/.
