Fou UberPop taxi drivers arrested in Amsterdam

Last weekend, 4 UberPOP drivers have been arrested in Amsterdam, while they offered taxi services deemed illegal.

Taxi drivers in Amsterdam need to have a license, and UberPOP drivers don't have a license. The taxi app UberPop (part of Uber) provides a platform for any driver to provide taxi rides in Amsterdam.
However, regular taxi drivers have complained about illegal competition, because they need to obey various rules, that are dodged by Uber.
The arrested UberPop drivers are now facing fines of up to E 4200.

Uber says the Dutch taxi laws are out of date, and do not enable innovative services such as Uber. Uber has also said it will pay the fines for the taxi drivers that were arrested.
