The Ibis hotel next to the Central Station in Amsterdam is going to be the first big completely non-smoking hotel in Amsterdam.
It looked like the Mövenpick hotel, next to the Passengers Terminal Amsterdam, (to be opened in September of this year), was going to be the first big hotel in Amsterdam that banned smoking in all areas. However, the Ibis hotel is smoke-free starting August 1. Other Ibis hotels in Amsterdam still allow smoking.
There are already 2 smaller hotels in Amsterdam (hotel Zandbergen and Hotel Imperial) that have banned smoking altogether.
