News of: Thursday, April 10 2008,
The historical IJ ferry will also be in service in the season 2008.
The boat makes a round trip through the Eastern Docklands (on the IJ), only on Sunday.
The trip takes about 2 hours, but you can decide to get off on one of the stops and proceed your trip later.
You can board behind the Central Station (jetty nr 14).
Until June 8, and from September 14 to October 26, there are 2 trips. From June 15 to September 7 the boat sails 3 times every Sunday.
The tour brings you along the new architecture on the Eastern islands, and the old picturesque Nieuwendammerdijk (here is a cafe), in Amsterdam North.
On your way back you can also decide to go on to the NDSM wharf (here too is a cafe/restaurant), and take the regular GVB ferry back to Central Station.
The trip is E 4.50 for adults (E 3.- for children and bicycles).
The time table and an overview map are on the AOM website (unfortunately in Dutch only).
