Due to the nice weather this weekend, all roads to the beaches along the Dutch North Sea coast line were full of cars.
To popular places such as Zandvoort and Bloemendaal (main beach resorts for Amsterdam), several miles of traffic jams formed on all roads.
This is a phenomenon that takes place every time when it is beach weather in the summer, in weekends. After a long wait in the car, car drivers have to deal with lack of parking space in the beach resorts.
Drivers are recommended to take the train to the beach, but without much result. The do not have enough capacity for the thousands of Amsterdammers who want to go to the beach.
Although there are extra trains to Zandvoort, particularly on Sundays these trains can be crowded.
