On Saturday September 2 there will be a barrel organ festival on the Nieuwmarkt Square, in the centre of Amsterdam.
Dutch barrel organs or street organs are famous for their size and fantastic, colourful design. Once there were many of them in the streets of Amsterdam (and other towns in the Netherlands), but in the past decades they have become more rare. At the moment only 3 street organs are still in use in Amsterdam.

The festival will last from 10am to about 5pm, the organs will play their music in the afternoon, from 12pm.
