The architectural style called 'Amsterdamse School' is typical for the 1930's. Amsterdam has some very beautiful examples of this style, of which the museum 't Schip must be mentioned. The museum is dedicated to this specific architecture style.
Close to this museum is the famous Zaanhof, which is really worth seeing.
The style is characterized by its beautiful brick work and round curves. Very typical are also the 'ladder windows' - the name derives from the fact that the horizontal wooden bars make the windows resemble ladders.
