Amsterdam has gone up 16 places on the list of most expensive cities for foreigners, to place 25.
The (yearly) investigation was carried out by Mercer Human Resource Consulting. 143 cities were taken into account, that were judged on the prices of 200 goods and services.
The fact that Amsterdam has gone up so much has mainly to do with the high exchange rate of the Euro against the US dollar. Several other European cities also went up considerably.
The top 10 is Moscow, London, Seoul (3), Tokyo (4), Hongkong (5), Copenhagen (6), Geneva (7), Osaka (8), Zürich (9) and Oslo (10).
