Amrâth hotel (5 stars) opened in Amsterdam Scheepvaarthuis

A new luxury hotel opened this week in Amsterdam, the Amrâth hotel.

The Amrâth is located very close to the Central Station, in one of Amsterdam's landmark buildings, the Scheepvaarthuis.

The Scheepvaarthuis dates from 1913 is one of the most beautiful examples of the Amsterdam School architecture. It was built as an office building for shipping companies. The last user was the GVB, the Amsterdam public transport company.

The building has been completely restored and renovated to a 5-star hotel. All original details of the interior, such as the stained glass windows have been retained and restored to their original splendour.

The hotel has 163 rooms, and all the facilities you can expect of a 5-star hotel (including meeting facilities, free internet, extra long beds, etc.).
On June 23 and 24 the hotel has an 'open day' (more info).
