The well-known topless bar 'Teasers' has been ordered to close by the neighbourhood council Amsterdam-Centrum.
Teasers is particularly popular with tourists. The bar is located on a very prominent location at Damrak, the street that leads to the Central Station.
The waitresses serve the clients half naked, and therefore attract a lot of attention. In the bar there are also other types of erotic entertainment, such as table dancing.
The city says the activities are not within the rules of the pub licence. Furthermore, a negative advice has been given by BIBOB, an agency that investigates companies that are suspected of organized crime.
The bar gets until May 23 to close, otherwise it will be closed by the city (this means it will be boarded up).
