On Friday May 13, the Amsterdam municipal public transport company will go on strike, during the morning rush hour.
All buses, trams and metros will not be in service until 8.30am.
The strike will only affect the public transport in Amsterdam.
Trains are not on strike, so the trains between Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Central Station will also function normally.
Regional buses to and from Amsterdam are also not affected.
The strike is because the transport workers are agains the intended privatization of the municipal transport companies in the Dutch big cities. In Amsterdam this is the GVB (see www.gvb.nl).
