On June 9, the Vondelpark will become a golf course for 1 day, for the Vondelpark Open 2006.
The Vondelpark Open 2006 is a charity initiative of which the proceeds go the Cruyff Foundation and to maintenance activities for the Vondelpark itself. The Cruyff foundation is set up by the famous Dutch soccer player Johan Cruyff. The foundation supports sports programs for children with and without a handicap worldwide.
The golf course will have a length of 2150 meter. In the tournament several Dutch celebrities take part, and the event takes place between 7.30am and 12 noon. During the tournament, the park will remain open for the public.
