A new bus, tram and metro ticket has been introduced, especially for tourists. It covers the Amsterdam region.
The 'Amsterdam & Region Day Ticket' has been created by the public transport companies GVB (covers Amsterdam), EBS and Connexxion. The latter two have regional bus lines around Amsterdam.
The new ticket is valid for 24 hours (from the time you first use it), and the cost is E 13.50.
It is not valid on trains.
The ticket can bring you to places like Marken, Volendam, Edam, Monnickendam, Haarlem, the castle Muiderslot in Muiden, and the beach.
The ticket comes with a route card with information, so that you can design your own trip.
It is for sale at various locations, but perhaps the easiest is the GVB ticket office opposite the Amsterdam Central Station.
