The Dutch real-estate owner Rappange Makelaardij has started to claim money from renters who rent out their apartment through AirBnb.
The real-estate agent not only wants to terminate the lease of the renters, but also seeks to claim the profits made through AirBnb.
Rappange has rent-controlled housing, which it does not want to get rented out to tourists. The amounts claimed from the renters may be up to Eur 80,000.
The real-estate agent has given 35 AirBnb files to a law firm, which tries to find evidence for the illegal rentals.
AirBnb does not want to give information about the rentals, unless it is forced by a court ruling.
The law firm will go to court to try and get the information.
