Today (October 1) is the start of the traditional '3 Crazy Days' at the well-known department store the Bijenkorf.
The Bijenkorf has a chain of stores in Holland, and its store in Amsterdam is on Dam Square. The department store is an institution in the country.
During the '3 Crazy Days' (in Dutch: Drie Dwaze Dagen) there are numerous cheap deals, attracting large numbers of buyers each year, mainly women. Every day there are extra cheap offers and special deals.
The Bijenkorf stores always get extremely busy.
It is said that about 15% of the total yearly turn-over of the Bijenkorf is made during the '3 Crazy Days'. All Bijenkorf stores together will attract more than a million visitors during the three days.
The Bijenkorf website (www.bijenkorf.nl) has today succumbed under the large number of visitors.
