About 18,000 people were present on Dam Square in Amsterdam to support the victims of the attack on the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris.
The Dutch Prime Minister, Mr Mark Rutte spoke, as well as the Mayor of Amsterdam (Mr Eberhard van der Laan) and Mr Aalbersberg of the police force.
They all stressed the importance of the freedom and speech and opinion, and that we must not be deterred by this attack.
There were no arrests or other incidents during the demonstration on Dam Square. The square was almost entirely filled with people.
