Today there are general elections in the Netherlands.
The Dutch will vote for a new parliament, and a new government.
The last government had fallen prematurely, so new elections were necessary. The current government is a minority government of VVD (conservatives) and CDA (Christian Democrats), supported by the PVV (anti-Islam, anti-European Union).
The polls about today's elections indicate a neck-and-neck race between VVD (conservatives) and PvdA (Social Democrats).
Normally, after the elections a coalition government will be formed, consisting of 2 or more parties.
