The Teylers Museum is located on a beautiful spot in the centre of Haarlem.
The museum prides itself in being the oldest museum in the Netherlands. The old Oval Room opened to the public in 1784, thus becoming Holland's first museum.
It has a collection of drawings by Dutch and Italian masters, a collection of (mainly 19th century) paintings, and a large collection of minerals, fossils and old scientific instruments.
