The taxi stand in front of Amsterdam's Central Station is closed by the traffic police until further notice.
The reason is (according to city officials) that taxi drivers entered the street behind the Central Station from the taxi stand, although this street is a low-traffic pedestrian zone during Sail 2005.
Apparently, taxi driver disregarded signs by traffic wardens, and caused near-collisions with pedestrians.
The consequences for travellers who want to take a taxi from Central Station are unknown.
