Special Expat Center opened for Amsterdam and Amstelveen

As of June 17, there is a special center in Amsterdam for so-called expats, foreign immigrants who come to work in Amsterdam.

The center is a co-operation of the municipalities of Amsterdam and Amstelveen (a neighbouring town, just south of Amsterdam), and the Dutch Immigration Service.
The centre aims to help specifically highly-skilled employee, or ‘knowledge migrant’ as they call it. This type of immigrant can rely on specific rules and procedures that ease the process of settling in.

The Expatcenter can help taking care of immigration papers, work permits, legal information, official registration, fiscal number needed to open a bank account, information about schools for the children, etc.
It is located in the Amsterdam World Trade Center.
