NOTE: in the first half of 2016, the Scheepvaartmuseum is used by the Dutch government, as a location for EU meetings (the Netherlands is EU Chairman during this period).

The Maritime Museum of Amsterdam. The collection has a lot of nautical artefacts, related to the Dutch seafaring history.
One of its big attractions is the tall ship the 'Amsterdam', that is located next to the museum, and which can be visited.

There's a large restaurant inside, which can be visited without visiting the museum.
