Noordermarkt square is very picturesque, particularly because it is located along the Prinsengracht canal, and the 17th century Noorderkerk (church) is on the square.

The square is otherwise mainly known for its Saturday street market (organic food).
On the corner with Westerstraat is a cafe (with outdoor seating) famous for its apple pie.
