Club 11 is dead, long live Trouw Amsterdam!
Rumours were already around that the famous Club 11 would get a replacement this year. Club 11, on the 11th floor of the POST/CS building near the Central Station, closed in 2008, as the entire building had to close down. The club was meant to exist temporarily from the beginning.
The same goes for the new place: Trouw Amsterdam is located in the former Trouw/Volkskrant building, where newspapers used to be printed. The club is to exist there for 2 years.
Last weekend the club, restaurant and gallery Trouw Amsterdam opened its doors. The club is in the space where once the printing presses were pounding, giving it a very industrial atmosphere.
There is also a night restaurant, which is open until 2 in the night, during weekends.
Trouw Amsterdam is located at Wibautstraat 131 (map - in Amsterdam-East, conveniently located close to metro station Wibautstraat).
