After a renovation of 4 years, the City cinema re-opened yesterday, near the Leidseplein square.
The City Theater dates from the 1930's, and the facade of the building has been restored in its original splendour. Inside it is completely new.
The cinema now has 7 halls, varying in size between 67 and 117 seats. The City cinema will target a 30+ audience, with a mix of arthouse and mainstream movies.
The opening of the cinema means a second major theater addition for the Leidseplein square within a week - last Sunday the DeLaMar Theater was opened.
The City Theater has become part of the Pathé cinema group (like most cinemas in Amsterdam), hence it will be listed as Pathé City.
The address is Kleine Gartmanplantsoen 15-19.
You can find the cinema as number 17 on the Amsterdam cinema map.
