New Icelandic ash cloud does not yet pose problem for European air traffic

The ash cloud of the Grimsvötn volcano, that erupted 2 days ago, does not cause immediate problems for European air traffic.

Experts say that the cloud may reach parts of Northern Scotland on Tuesday, and Great Britain, France and Spain on Thursday.

This is based on 5-day weather forecasts, so it is not very certain.

Last year, many flights to and from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport were cancelled because of a volcano eruption in Iceland. Airports throughout Europe were closed for days or weeks.
