Main Dutch bicycle route planner now also in English

The main Dutch routeplanner for cyclists, the planner provided on http://www.fietsersbond.nl/fietsrouteplanner now has an English language interface.

The route planner is provided (for free) by the Dutch Cyclist Union (Fietsersbond).
The planner covers the entire country.

The Cyclist Union has hundreds of volunteers, who continuously update the planner website with all available bicycle lanes and routes.

Users can choose a beginning and end point of a route, by placing flags.
But you can also choose the option of a round trip (this is called a 'circuit' by the Cyclist Union). You can include various 'via points' in your round trip.

You can further choose a profile to calculate the type of route, such as 'shortest route' or 'recreational route'.

The resulting route can be downloaded as a text file, but also as a GPX file for gps devices.

The planner incorporates all ferry connections in the Netherlands, and issues a warning if a route is calculated that contains a ferry connection.
By selecting the option 'always accessible', you can choose to avoid ferries that do not operate 24 hours a day.
Particularly near Amsterdam there are a few ferry connections that are always operational, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
