The 60th Aalsmeer Flower Parade will be held for the last time, this weekend. On Saturday, the parade will be in Amsterdam.
On Saturday, 1 September, a ribbon of flowers more than a kilometre in length will wend its way for the last time from Aalsmeer through Amstelveen to Amsterdam.
With a final celebration in the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam - a Grand Finale with music, dancing, performances by famous artists, and, of course, with more than a million flowers, the Aalsmeer Bloemencorso will be closed off.
The event in the Olympic Stadium is sold out, but you can see the floats arrive at the Stadium at 12.45 pm, and depart from the Stadium at 4.15pm.
The Olympic Stadium (location) is in Amsterdam South, and can be reached with tram 16 or 24 from the Central Station (stop Stadionplein, about 20-30 minutes).
