The International Indian Film Academy Award ceremony will take place on June 9, 10 and 11.
The ceremony is a major event in the Indian film industry (nicknamed 'Bollywood' as the industry is located near Bombay), expected to attract some 400 million tv viewers worldwide.
During the IIFA weekend several other events will take place, such as a world premiere of a Bollywood movie, the IIFA Trade Forum, a Celebrity Cricketmatch, etc.
The IIFA organizes the award ceremony in different cities. Last year the event took place in Singapore, in 2002 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The main ceremony will take place on Sunday June 11, in the Arena Stadium (information on tickets sales is on this website), in Amsterdam South-East.
The big event is expected to bring many more visitors to Amsterdam, and also cause Indian movies to be produced in Amsterdam.
