Frans Hals Museum

Frans Hals Museum

The Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem has the largest collection of paintings by Frans Hals in the world. What Rembrandt is for Amsterdam, is Frans Hals for Haarlem. He lived in the 17th century and made mainly portrait paintings, some of which are very large and can be admired in the Frans Hals Museum.
The museum also has other paintings by Dutch masters, such as Jan van Scorel, Maerten van Heemskerck, Hendrick Goltzius and Cornelis van Haarlem.

The museum has a shop, a cafe and a nice quiet courtyard.
