Flights to and from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport delayed due to vulcano eruption

Many flights to and from Schiphol airport are delayed, because of a vulcano eruption in Iceland.

The eruption causes clouds of ash above northern Europe.

Flights to and from England, Scotland, Russia and Scandinavia can be delayed or cancelled. Flights from the US can be delayed becuase they are diverted around the clouds.

The ash clouds can cause plane engines to come to sudden stop.

More information about flights can be found on http://www.schiphol.nl.
