Fire in hotel in Amsterdam centre, 1 person dies, 1 severely wounded

Last night, a fire broke out in the Swissôtel near Dam Square. A 21-year old woman died, and a 25-year old man was severely wounded. Both were guests of the hotel.

The fire broke out in the early evening, on the 3rd floor. Three staff members were treated for breathing difficulties.
The entire hotel was evacuated.
Around 7pm the fire was contained, and the guest were allowed back in.
An official investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out.
