Extra long trains to the beach because of the hot weather

Due to the very hot weather expected this weekend, the Dutch Railways (www.ns.nl) will deploy extra long trains between Amsterdam and Zandvoort.

Both on Saturday and Saturday record high temperatures are expected (above 30 degrees Celsius), and therefore many people will go to the beach.

For Amsterdammers, Zandvoor beach is the closest and easiest to reach. From Central Station you can get to Zandvoort station in 30 minutes, and in Zandvoort it is just a few minutes' walk to the beach.
Trains run from early morning until late evening, with a direct train every half hour.

The coast guard has announced it will employ extra staff, as they expect more swimmers to get into trouble, and children to lose their parents.
